What Anthem Studio is
Anthem Studio is a professional digital audio workstation for Windows — a single application that takes a track from first idea to finished, loud, translation-checked master.
It is built for people who actually finish music: producers, mixing and mastering engineers, beatmakers and songwriters in EDM, pop, hip-hop, club and cinematic styles. The whole program is engineered around two non-negotiables: it stays out of your way, and it does not stop. Playback doesn't stutter, plugins can't take the app down with them, and heavy sessions stay responsive.
Why Anthem — the one-DAW thesis
Every major DAW has a signature strength. Ableton owns clip-based flow. FL owns the fast loop. Logic ships a serious stock toolkit. Pro Tools owns deep editing and studio interchange. The point isn't "a checkbox for everything." It's that these features work together in one signal flow — comp a vocal, tune it, bus it, glue it on the console, check it on the translation preview and export to a streaming LUFS target without ever leaving the app.
Arrangement & editing
- Timeline arrangement with audio, instrument, MIDI, bus/FX and folder tracks.

MIDI 2.0, piano roll, score & expression
MIDI 2.0 — high-resolution, future-proof, and already here. Most DAWs are still purely MIDI 1.0. Anthem's engine speaks the modern MIDI 2.0 transport natively:
- Universal MIDI Packet (UMP) core — the engine processes both MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0 protocol packets.
- 16-bit note velocity and 32-bit resolution for controllers, pitch bend, channel pressure and per-note (poly) pressure — far finer than MIDI 1.0's 7-bit steps, so sweeps and expressive playing are smooth, not zippered.
- Per-group routing and live MIDI 2.0 input routed straight to the target track.
- Automatic MIDI 1.0 fallback — anything MIDI 2.0 cleanly down-converts, so legacy gear and MIDI-1-only plugins keep working.
Expression & editing:
- MPE support — per-note slide/pressure/pitch captured, edited, serialized and rendered on top of the high-resolution engine.
- Piano roll — high-contrast note/grid rendering, full grid and quantize divisions (straight, dotted, triplet), live chord readout.

Full latency compensation (PDC)
Plenty of DAWs compensate plugin latency on tracks but quietly drop it on buses and sends — so the moment you put a linear-phase EQ or a look-ahead limiter on a group bus, that whole group slides out of time against the rest of the mix. Anthem compensates the entire signal graph, sample-accurately:
- Tracks — every track's insert chain is delay-aligned to a common project reference (the worst-case track latency).
- Buses — every bus is aligned to the full project latency (track + bus stages), so groups stay locked no matter what you insert on them.
- Direct-to-master tracks get the matching extra delay so they line up with bus-routed material at the master sum.
- Sends are delay-aware per source-track and per send slot, so parallel/aux paths stay phase-aligned.
- Recording stays aligned — the compensated master latency is reported to the host and to Anthem's own capture, so what you record lands at the right spot with no manual nudging.
- Click-free & real-time-safe — when a plugin changes its own latency (oversampling or look-ahead toggles, state loads) Anthem re-aligns with a short crossfade, never allocating on the audio thread. An internal impulse self-test verifies every delay line stays accurate.
Net result: your mix stays phase-locked and in time end-to-end — the thing other DAWs make you chase manually.
Metering & translation
- True-peak metering with a K-system mode.
- LUFS loudness metering with streaming-target presets for export.
- Correlation / phase meter on the master.
- Pro Translation Check — audition the mix as phone, laptop, car, club PA, small speaker or mono. Monitor-only by default, so it never prints into your export unless you choose to.
Plugins & the sandbox
- VST3 and CLAP plugin hosting.
- Out-of-process sandbox — every third-party plugin runs in a separate host process. If a plugin crashes, your song keeps playing and the DAW stays up; the failed slot is flagged for reload.

- ARA2 integration — open Melodyne directly on a clip for sample-accurate pitch and timing editing, in-place.

Anthem ships a native, design-consistent effect and instrument suite so you can mix a record start-to-finish with zero third-party plugins. It includes:
- EQ8 parametric EQ, Compressor, Pro Dynamics, Pro Channel Strip, Limiter, Clipper, OTT-style multiband.
- Transient Designer, Saturator, MasterMojo, Godizer, Volume Shaper.
- Reverb & Delay (plus signature Anthem Reverb / Anthem Delay), Filter, LFO modulator, Stereo Tool, Sidechain Duck.
- Vocal Tune, Spectrum Analyzer, LUFS Meter, and a Drum Sampler with slicing.
It also includes the Anthem ProSound Suite — a translation-focused mastering toolkit for loud, club-ready material: bass translation and mono-low-end control, kick/bass low-end lock, punch/clipping stages, dynamic smoothing, a clean-loudness master stage, and a reference-match analyzer.
Stem separation
- Built-in source separation splits a finished track into stems (vocals / drums / bass / other) using an on-device neural model (Demucs).

Stability isn't a bullet in Anthem — it's the design constraint everything else is built around.
- Always-on multicore rendering. The audio graph is processed in parallel across cores by default, so large sessions (hundreds of tracks) play back smoothly.
- Real-time-safe audio engine. The audio thread does no allocation or blocking work; structural edits are serialized so editing during playback doesn't drop out.
- Crash-proof plugin hosting. Third-party plugins run out-of-process — a misbehaving plugin can't crash the DAW, and its state is buffered and restored.
- Hardened against bad input. Project loading is guarded against malformed or hostile files (bounded allocations, validated indices) so a corrupt file fails safely.
- Adversarially audited. The codebase has been through multiple multi-agent correctness audits — concurrency, use-after-free, division-by-zero, serialization and DSP safety — with findings fixed and re-verified.
Licensing, updates & requirements
